The P.E.A.C.E. Community Center / Will Feed Kids Café

Provides a safe environment for local youth and adults, ages 6-18 in south Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. We strive to improve community relations-preventing crime & drug abuse and serve a free daily meal to children ages 0-18, among many other initiatives. At times, for a number of kids, this is the only full meal they will get that particular day.
FITNESS-HEALTH-NUTRITION Basic health education classes, nutrition classes about healthy eating habits, critical thinking activities- such as writing workshops, physical fitness recreational activities, and inspiring/motivating the children for their future are all areas of focus.
We believe in networking with many other organizations to avail the youth and their families with every opportunity possible.

Some of the community youth initiatives include:

  • Structured educational activities
  • Recreational activities
  • Arts/crafts
  • Cultural diversity
  • Onsite job opportunities
  • Life skills
  • Health-nutrition-fitness
  • Education workshops
  • Gardening
  • And other opportunities otherwise missed
The children understand that coming to the P.E.A.C.E. Center is “a place to go to let off some steam—learn to be a kid, with a caring adult to talk to.”
At the P.E.A.C.E Community Center children’s time is occupied with positive activities and a loving family-like atmosphere. This compassion deters, and in most cases, prevents local children’s involvement in gangs, drug use, or other dangerous acts. Overall target population is males and females ages 6-18.
